10 Cool Qualities Of The Tibetan Mastiff, The Most Expensive Dog In The World

The Tibetan Mastiff is all the rage among wealthy people in China, with purebreds going for as high as 10 million yuan ($1.5 million) in recent years. But what do we really know about the most expensive dog in the world?
For one, it’s an ancient breed that originated in Central China. Legend has it Marco Polo spotted them on his travels and, probably still miffed about not finding a unicorn, exaggerated, describing them as “tall as a donkey with a voice as powerful as that of a lion.” This is how I usually describe myself, and believe me it’s a lot to live up to.
It’s also worth noting that the Tibetan Mastiff is not a true mastiff, which is “a type of large dog often used as guard dogs.” This is not a dig to Tibet, but the “Tibetan Terrier” is not a terrier either, nor is the “Tibetan Spaniel” a spaniel.

Here are some of the Tibetan Mastiff’s cooler qualities:
1. They have nice teeth.
