Is Posh the new Imelda Marcos? Victoria Beckham's tweet reveals the shoe mountain she's donating to charity for Philippine victims

She is rarely seen in the same outfit twice.
But if anyone doubted the sheer size of Victoria Beckham’s extensive clothing collection, they have only to look at the mountain of shoes she has hauled from her wardrobe.
The 39-year-old former Spice Girl and her husband David are donating thousands of pounds worth of designer clothes to their local charity shop to raise cash for victims of Typhoon Haiyan.

The couple have handed over boxes full of their old clothes and shoes to a British Red Cross shop in Chelsea, west London, to help fund the charity’s work in the Philippines.
Mrs Beckham yesterday tweeted a picture of the enormous shoe collection, along with a shot of her wearing jeans, a grey top and white trainers sitting in a cardboard box surrounded by other boxes.
The cast-offs, which are due to go on sale Friday at 11am, includes hundreds of pairs of Victoria’s shoes and many of David’s signature baseball caps.

It's fair to say that last night's annual Global Gift Gala might as well have been sponsored by Victoria Beckham. With two of the charity event's most high profile guests (granted, one was the designer herself) sporting bespoke creations, it was hard not to feel a pinch of jealously when faced with the beautifully tailored gowns.
Victoria's own gown was a glamorous take on her super popular keyhole detail blouse (available to buy below). Featuring her signature buttoned band collar and revealing keyhole detail at the front and back, the designer had transformed the smart staple into a chic evening dress complete with a zip all the way up the back.
Sadly, we aren't all fortunate enough to have Mrs Beckham herself tailor our gowns, and this particular shape is bespoke, as are most of her dresses. But fear not, to recreate this classic red carpet look yourselves simply team one of our top three keyhole blouses (below) with a form-fitting black maxi skirt. We love River Island's racer front version, ideal for the coming party season.

They have also donated their famous matching Dickensian outfits worn at the Venice Film Festival in 2006.
Posting the fun snaps on her Twitter page, Victoria wrote: 'Proud to support @BritishRedCross #ShopDrop Donating clothes for #Haiyan survivors.'
Suits designed by the Beckhams’ close pals Dolce and Gabbana will also go on sale alongside clothes and shoes from designers Jimmy Choo, and Roberto Cavalli.

Victoria, who is said to have spent the weekend sorting through her posh threads, urged others to follow her example and donate their old clothes.
She said: ‘Typhoon Haiyan has devastated the Philippines, killing thousands and leaving hundreds of thousands homeless. The British Red Cross is now carrying out an enormous humanitarian relief project to help all those people in desperate need.
‘David and I are supporting the Red Cross Shop Drop for the Philippines campaign and we urge everyone in Britain to do the same.

Fans are expected to queue up round the block for a chance to get their hands on the designer clothes ahead of the shop's opening time at 11am.
A Red Cross source said: ‘We asked if they would like to help us raise money for the Typhoon Haiyan survivors and they jumped at the chance.
'The collection includes dresses, tops, suits and shoes from labels including Dolce and Gabbana, Jimmy Choo and Roberto Cavalli.
‘They’ll all be identified as items from Victoria and David.’
Typhoon Haiyan struck the Philippines on Friday November 8th, which has left more than four million people homeless.
