THE MAN TINUBU WANTS IN LAGOS GOVERNMENT HOUSE ALAUSA

MR. AYO GBELEYI
MR. AYO GBELEYI
Strong indications have emerged that the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos have acquisced to the request of Christians in the state for a Christian governor in 2015. The candidate of choice is Ayo Gbeleyi, the present Commissioner of Finance in the administration of quintessential Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola.
The decision to present a Christian candidate emerged after due consultations with eminent Christian leaders and clerics who have promised to mobilise other faithfuls to vote enmasse for the party if a Christian emerges as gubernatorial candidate in the state. The leadership of the All Progressives Congress after a thorough search have found a willing and reliable Christian candidate in Ayo Gbeleyi, a thoroughbred professional known for his exceptional brilliance and intelligence.
Since the searchlight has beamed on Gbeleyi, Christian leaders are delighted that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has not only heeded to their demands but responded accordingly. They had argued that Moslems have successively governed the state since the inception of democracy.

Fears For Hunger Striker Isa Muazu As He is Deported To Nigeria

A man who spent nearly 100 days on hunger strike in immigration detention has been deported back to Nigeria after failed Court of Appeal attempts to remain in the UK.
Lawyers for Isa Muazu, 45, said they worked through the night to try to prevent his deportation, but an appeal judge rejected an injunction request in the early hours of this morning.
They said they would now consider an out-of-country appeal of behalf of Mr Muazu, whose weight has dropped to just 53 kilos, despite his 5ft 11in height, prompting fears that he will not survive the flight.
The Home Office confirmed Mr Muazu left the UK in a private jet this morning, but his lawyers said the department did not comment on his wellbeing.
Lord Roberts of Llandudno, who intends to raise the case in the House of Lords next week, said Mr Muazu's life was now in danger.
"Isa Muazu's removal from the UK and potential death on a flight or upon arrival in Nigeria is not only a tragedy but an end to the UK's reputation as a country with humane, civilised, just policies and government," the Liberal Democrat said.
"(Home Secretary) Theresa May must consider her position and her immigration control policies.
"Looking 'tough' on immigration simply must not descend to the low of allowing people to die to score a political point. We urgently need to review the systems of immigration detention, 'fast track' and enforced removal."

Fathia-and-Saheed-360x225
Few years ago, Saheed Balogun reportedly said he would soon stop his ex wife, Fathia Balogun, from using his name.
Saheed was quoted to have said “She is my ex. As for my name that she is still answering, the deed will be done soon. The Nigerian law says that after three or four years, you can do something about it. If somebody wants to keep my name, what of the new person coming in? This has nothing to do with grudges.”
And now, it looks as if Saheed is set to do something about his threat.
A reliable source informed Saturday Beats that the actor had taken his ex to court insisting that she drop his name.
Recall also that Fathia had also reportedly boasted in an interview last year, that nobody could stop her from using her name.

I’m Part Of The Merger Meeting With APC - Sokoto Governor

Sokoto State governor, Alhaji Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, has cleared the air over doubts being entertained in some quarters on his purported defection to the All Progressive Congress (APC).

He said he was in the know about the meeting where the decision to join the party was taken by the Kawu Baraje-led group and from where the merger was announced.

Despite the announcement by the Baraje-led group that Wamakko was part of their decision to move to the APC, some of the governor’s supporters still believed otherwise in view of the fact that he (Wamakko) was in Senegal at the time of the group’s meeting.

Odartey Lamptey

Former Black Stars player, Nii Odartey Lamptey, has, in an interview with XYZ Sports, advised young football stars to shun gold diggers and marry women who will stand by them in times of difficulty.
“…You need a good woman”, he advised and warned that gold diggers leave their men in the lurch when the fame and money fade away.
“When that stardom is going down and you are not careful to have a woman who can help you, at the end of the day, they will go against you because it was your money, not for your love that they came for”, he counseled.
The former international football star, who has told XYZ Sports that he just discovered that all his three daughters are not his biological children after a paternity test, recently told XYZ Sports in an exclusive interview that: “There are so many things that [are] going against footballers that people don’t know”.
According to him, “I’ll say that, especially, the current footballers, the young ones that are coming, they should make sure they get a good lawyer [to] advise them very well before they even get into marriage because it is very important”.

How I Co-ordinated Lagos Black Sunday Robbery – Godogodo

LAGOS — Sunday, September 9, 2012, will remain indelible in the minds of some families in LagosState, who lost their loved ones to the brazen attack of a gang of heavily armed robbers, who laid siege to strategic points in the state, killing at least three policemen and several other citizens, while scores sustained injuries.
But the arrest  of all the members of the gang that operated that day, including the notorious South-West robbery czar, Abiodun Ogunjobi, aka, Godogodo, would bring relief to relatives and friends of those killed or injured during the encounter.
Meanwhile, Godogodo, who was arrested by operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, led by SP Abba Kyari, on August 1, 2013, has revealed how he coordinated the bloody  operation. Bureaux de change  robbery
He gave chilling details of how he led members of the gang to cart away millions of dollars from bureau de change operators in Agege and Gbagada areas of Lagos. New PDP/APC merger: ‘Tambuwal remains Speaker, for now’ •PDP Reps to meet Jonathan •Tukur is a polio virus to Nigeria’s democracy - Lamido

Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Honourable Victor Ogene, on Thursday, disclosed that the new alliance between the aggrieved five governors of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) would not affect the position of the Speaker of the House, Honourable Aminu Tambuwal for now.
This is coming just as members of the PDP in the House are reportedly planning to meet with President Goodluck Jonathan over the crisis rocking the party and the merger of the five governors on the platform of the party with the APC.
Honourable Ogene, who spoke on the position of the speaker while responding to questions from newsmen in Abuja, said that, unless APC garnered up to 181 members, there will be no basis to discuss any change in the leadership of the House.
According to him,“there is no cause for alarm. The leadership of the House is intact and until a particular political party has up to 181 members before you start talking of changing leadership.
He explained that section 68 (1) of the 1999 constitution (as amended) was clear on the defection of lawmakers as there is nothing like group or mass defection.

The Dead Are Removed From Their Tombs To Change Clothes In Tana Toraja, Indonesia (PHOTOS, VIDEO)

Family members put on a new set of clothing on the preserved body of their relative during a traditional ritual called “Ma’nene” in Indonesia.
You may call it culture or rituals. In Indonesia, Tana Toraja, the dead are removed from their tombs every year to change their clothes.
It’s said that Toraja people have interesting and fascinating rituals surrounding death and the afterlife.  When someone dies, their ritual states that the deceased are to be buried in the town they were born in (and not necessarily in the town in which they have died).

Further research into the term “ Rolang” uncovered a Tibetan connection.  This one is even more freaky.  In this scenario, a holy man (a “ngagspa”) gets shut up in a dark room with the newly deceased and lies on top of the corpse, wrapping his arms around it and placing his mouth over the mouth of said dead person.  By breathing into the dead body’s mouth, the corpse is eventually revived, and leaps to it’s feet, attempting to escape the grasp of the ngagspa.  The holy man must hold onto the thrashing corpse, or he will be killed.  Oh, and he has to wait for it to stick out its tongue, so he can bite it off.  Apparently the tongue makes  a powerful magic weapon used in healing etc.

Python Eats Drunk Man Alive In India [Photos+Video]

The simple lesson to be learned here: don't get drunk on the streets in India.
When you drink hard, you might find yourself waking up in very strange places. However in some countries it’s quite risky to drink till you drop. A drunk man in India was taking a well-deserved nap outside a liquor store today, when he was discovered by a huge python. Unfortunately it was just around lunch time for the large snake, that smothered and ate him.
The incident happened in the Attapadi area in the state Kerala. So if you ever have plans to go there on holiday, you better wait to get drunk until you’re safe and sound in your hotelroom.

Abiodun Ogunjobi, otherwise known as Godogodo, the dreaded one-eyed robbery czar who terrorized Lagos and other South-West states, killing no less than 50 policemen while raiding several banks, businesses and homes, for over 14 years has revealed that he almost quit robbery in 2011.

Nigeria’s Sharia police In Kano State Destroys 240k Bottles Of Beer Yet Share Income From VAT Generated To The Federal Purse On Alcohol.

The beer bottles destroyed

The local police enforcing Islamic law in Nigeria’s city of Kano publicly destroyed some 240,000 bottles of beer, equivalent of 20,000 crates, on Wednesday, the latest move in a wider crackdown on behaviour deemed “immoral” in the area.
The banned booze had been confiscated from trucks coming into the city in recent weeks, said officials from the Hisbah, the patrol tasked with enforcing the strict Islamic law, known as sharia.
Kano’s Hisbah chief Aminu Daurawa said at the bottle-breaking ceremony he had “the ardent hope this will bring an end to the consumption of such prohibited substances”.
A large bulldozer smashed the bottles to shouts of “Allahu Ahkbar” (God is Great) from supporters outside the Hisbah headquarters in Kano, the largest city in Nigeria’s mainly Muslim north.
Kegs containing more than 8,000 litres of a local alcoholic brew called “burukutu” and 320,000 cigarettes were also destroyed.

Gunman who posted rap video on YouTube glorifying gang culture after trying to murder rival with 'spray and pray' machine gun is jailed for 22 years

A gunman who uploaded a rap video onto YouTube boasting about trying to murder a rival with a ‘spray and pray’ machine gun was jailed for 22 years today.
Kayode Oshin, 21, attempted to assassinate Yassin Zouaiou with a Mac 10 in a feud over drugs and money in Hounslow, west London, after being enticed into a world of gang culture and crime’, a court heard.
Mr Zouaiou survived when the gun jammed - but a single bullet was fired, hitting his brother Mohammed Ali Subhani in the neck.
But Oshin then posted a rap video bragging about the shooting on YouTube.
The shooting was carried out in an alleyway between North Drive and Kingsley Road, Hounslow, at around 1am on October 6, 2011, the court heard.
Oshin and a second man, Junior Tahir-Akinyele, 19, were arrested the next day in a white Mercedes-Benz they had hired for the attack.
Jailing Oshin for 22 years and Tahir-Akinyele for 14 years, Judge Timothy Pontius said the pair had been ‘enticed into a world of gang culture and crime’.
‘Oshin you are convicted of attempted murder, your clear intention was that Yassin Zouaiou should die,’ he added.
‘That intention would undoubtedly have been realised were it not for the fact that the mechanism on the gun jammed, releasing only one round.

Can a baby just burst into flames? This child is claimed to have spontaneously combusted FOUR times. Crazy? A new theory offers a tantalising explanation

Enlargene day Rajeshwari Karnan suddenly heard her baby Rahul (pictured) screaming from inside the hut. She ran towards him, but before she could get there, a neighbour shouted 'Your baby is on fire!'Like many mothers, Rajeshwari Karnan was delighted when she gave birth to a son. The 23-year-old farm labourer and her husband, Karnan Perumal, 26, already had a two-year-old daughter, but like many in the state of Tamil Nadu, they considered a boy a particular blessing.
So when Rahul arrived in May, they were especially delighted.
However, just over a week later, their joy turned to misery.

One afternoon, says Rajeshwari, she was washing her daughter when she suddenly heard Rahul screaming from inside the hut. She ran towards him, but before she could get there, a neighbour shouted to her the words she will never forget: ‘Your baby is on fire!’
‘There was a flame on his belly and his right knee,’ Rajeshwari told the New York Times last week, ‘and my husband rushed with a towel to put it off [sic]. I got very scared.’
The couple immediately took their son to hospital, but the doctors were mystified.
Later, the parents returned home, hoping this bizarre and disturbing occurrence would not repeat itself.

According To Scientists, This Is The Most Relaxing Tune Ever Recorded.

This eight minute song is a beautiful combination of arranged harmonies, rhythms and bass lines and thus helps to slow the heart rate, reduce blood pressure and lower levels of the stress. The song features guitar, piano and electronic samples of natural soundscapes.

A study was conducted on 40 women, who were connected to sensors and had been given challenging puzzles to complete against the clock in order to induce a level of stress. Different songs were then played, to test their heart rate, blood pressure, breathing and brain activity. The results showed that the song Weightless was 11 per cent more relaxing than any other song and even caused drowsiness among women in the lab. It induced a 65 per cent reduction in overall anxiety and brought them to a level 35 per cent lower than their usual resting rates.

REAVELED AT LAST: IBB KILLED DELE GIWA - MAJOR DEBO BASORUN (RTD)

Major Debo Basorun (retd.), 70, former Chief Press Secretary to ex-military President Ibrahim Babangida, in an interview published in National Mirror, confirmed that the brutal murder by a parcel bomb of the journalist Dele Giwa , 27 years ago was ordered by the then head of state General I B Babangida.

Basorun was asked: “Are you saying categorically that it was Babangida who ordered the killing of Dele Giwa?” His answer: “Yes, yes and yes.”

Major Debo Basorun revealed this during the launch in Lagos of his book, 'Honour for Sale: An Inside Account of the Murder of Dele Giwa'.

Please read on:
Question: What informed your decision to write a book about some salient events in the nation’s history?
Immediately I left this country for exile in United States of America in 1989, I gathered all the materials for the book. I started making jottings on long hand. By 1994 the book was ready and the transcript was given to Prof. Wole Soyinka during the NADECO struggles. But for one reason or the other, I could not put it through
Why did you go on exile?
I had to run when my life was in danger. I was then the Chief Press Secretary to General Ibrahim Babangida, the former Head of State. Since I know some facts surrounding the death of Dele Giwa, the government was uncomfortable with me, therefore they were looking for how to eliminate me.
Babangida’s government was involved in the planning and assassination of Dele Giwa. And because I was privy to that information, the government was unhappy, unsettled; it was jittery and wanted to get rid of me. It suspected that I could say the truth.
When I saw the handwriting on the wall and between life and death, I ran for my life. I had to escape from the country after I took them to court. I was the only principal officer serving that will take the government to court.

How APC plots to take over House of Reps

Progressives Congress (APC) has reportedly mapped out a plan to ensure smooth take-over of the leadership of the House of Representatives, following its merger with five aggrieved governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP).
Members of the lower chambers of the National Assembly elected on the ticket of the PDP from the said five states, who had been operating on the platform of New PDP (nPDP), also formally became members of APC, by virtue of the merger, on Tuesday.
Though seven PDP governors of Adamawa, Rivers, Kano, Sokoto, Kwara, Niger and Jigawa began the merger discussion with APC leadership, Niger and Jigawa governors dissociated themselves from the merger when it was announced on Tuesday.
A top source involved in the merger also disclosed to the Nigerian Tribune that the new development would ultimately give APC a simple majority in both chambers of the National Assembly and would be explored to take over the leadership of the House of Representatives, while the plan was reportedly to leave the Senate leadership intact for PDP.

BREAKING NEWS: APC Merges With New PDP - Photos From The Merger In Abuja

Welcome development. Hope merging is developmental oriented and not the usual fraudulent ganging!

The All Progressives Congress, APC, has announced a merger with the Abubakar Baraje-led faction of the Peoples Democratic Party, tagged ‘New PDP’
The merger was announced at the end of a meeting at the Kano Governors Lodge in Abuja on Tuesday.
Mr. Baraje read the terse communique to journalists at about 11.46 a.m.
The merger means the APC now has its 11 governors and the seven governors who are members of the New PDP; making a total of 18 state governors.
The seven New PDP governors were expected to have a last meeting with President Goodluck Jonathan before taking a decision. The meeting is yet to be held.

Prices Of Imported CarsTo Nigeria To Rise By 60%

The Federal Government has released the details of new duties and levies payable on imported new and used vehicles as well as imported new tyres from next year, raising the tariff from 20 per cent to 70 per cent.
Dealers of imported vehicles estimated that the new rate would translate into an increase of 60 per cent on imported cars.
The Federal Executive Council had last month approved a new national automotive policy aimed at encouraging local production and assembling of new vehicles with an imposition of a high import tariff on fully built vehicles. But the new rate was not given then.
A two-page document dated November 14, 2013 and signed by the Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, gave the new import tariff on cars as 70 per cent (of the cost of each vehicle).
It stated that a fully built car would attract a duty of 35 per cent and a levy of another 35 per cent of the cost of the vehicle.
Hitherto, importers/dealers parted with 20 per cent and two per cent as duty and levy, respectively on new cars. Ten per cent flat rate was also imposed on commercial vehicles.
Although the new tariff on cars shows an increase of 48 per cent over the old rate, dealers have estimated that the showroom price of an imported car will rise by 60 per cent when other variables (costs) are added.

Finally, G-7 Governors Join Opposition All Progressives Congress (APC)

The crisis rocking the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) may have finally reached a climax with the G-7 governors resolving to join the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC). This comes barely 24 hours after President Goodluck Jonathan chose to postpone a planned meeting with the governors which was seen as a make or break meeting.
Five of the seven  governors today met at the Kano State lodge in Abuja to finalize the decision to breakaway from the ruling party early today.
A source told LEADERSHIP that the governors reached this decision in a meeting held last night at the Kano State governors’ lodge in Abuja. The meeting ended at about 12.30am. Also Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers state confirmed the merger to Saharareporters.
But LEADERSHIP gathered that one of the seven governors, Sule Lamido of Jigawa State may be having great difficulty in making up his mind while the remaining six governors have decided to take a leap of faith and join the APC.
The six governors that have made up their mind to join the APC are Rabiu Kwankwaso (Kano), Aliyu Wamakko (Sokoto), Muazu Aliyu (Niger), Murtala Nyako (Adamawa), Abdulfatah Ahmed (Kwara) and Rotimi Amaechi (Rivers).

SHOCKING! Angola Bans Islam, Destroys Mosques Becomes First Country To Do So

According to several newspapers, the tiny African country of Angola has become the first country in the world to ban Islam and Muslims.
The Angolan Minister of Culture, Rosa Cruz e Silva was quoted by news agencies and Angola newspapers as saying, “The process of legalisation of Islam has not been approved by the Ministry of Justice and Human rights, their mosques would be closed until further notice.”
As part of the ban, the Angolan government ordered the demolition of the mosques in the country.
According to Silva, the decision was the latest in a series of efforts to ban “illegal” religious sects in the country. Silva’s statement was made during her appearance last week at the 6th Commission of the National Assembly.
According to the minister, the move was necessitated in order to fight the emergence of congregations whose worshipping is contradictory to the customs of Angola culture.
Not just Islam, many other faits which have not been legalised will face closure of their houses of worship.

In this shed tucked into a dark valley of the Appalachian Mountains, before 60 adoring followers speaking in tongues, throwing up their hands and dabbing tears from their eyes, Mr Hamblin was breaking the law.
