Although the testimonies were not forth coming, the lame, blind still assisted with mixed feelings, believed that they will be healed.

The Hungarian official, who branded Britain a ‘nasty country’ last month, said the EU already had ‘clear rules’ on residency and ‘the UK should apply it, like other states’.
He added: ‘The European Commission has already decided to refer UK to EU Court. We will look at the latest measures and act again  if necessary.’
Mr Andor also warned ministers against undermining the EU by raising concerns about immigration, saying: ‘Responsible politicians should avoid legitimising xenophobic reactions that indeed weaken the European spirit.’

December 6, 2004
His Excellency,
The President, Commander-In-Chief,
Federal Republic of Nigeria, Abuja

RE: ANAMBRA AND RELATED MATTERS
About a month ago, the nation woke up to the shocking news of a devastating attack on Anambra State resulting in the burning down of  radio and television stations, hotels, vehicles, assembly quarters, the  residence of the state Chief Judge and finally, Government House, Awka.  Dynamite was even applied in the exercise and all or nearly most of these in the full glare of our own police force as shown on NTA for the world to see. The operation lasted three days.

Police Barricade Rivers House of Assembly, Disperse Protesters With Tear Gas [Video]

Police Barricade Rivers House of Assembly, Disperse Protesters With Tear Gas
The Rivers State Police Command has dispersed a crowd at the state House Of Assembly with tear gas, after the state lawmakers held their plenary on the streets outside their premises.
Via: channelstv.
Twenty-five out of the 26 members of the house had converged on the assembly earlier on Thursday to sit in compliance with a High Court order barring the National Assembly from taking over the functions of the assembly.
Trouble began to brew after the police barricaded the entrance to the state House of Assembly, forcing the lawmakers to hold their plenary in the open.
The lawmakers had gone to the House of Assembly with the intention of resuming the business of law-making after a Federal High Court in Abuja voided the resolution of the National Assembly to take over the legislative functions of the Rivers State House of Assembly.
The court faulted the decision on the ground that the National Assembly cannot assume the law making functions of the House of Assembly when there were no facts that the assembly was unable to carry out its functions.

Linda Ikeji
Some day ago, the Nigerian most famous blogger Linda Ikeji wished to show appreciation to her fan and blog reader so offered to give away one million naira to ten people, one hundred thousand naira each, so she took to her blog to announce and seek advice on how to go about selecting winners who would benefit from the N1m, not long after publishing comments started pouring in thousands of suggestions popped in through the comment button and personal email address, most of her readers begged to be given as little as five thousand naira.

BTW. EX MBGN OMASAN BUWA, LINDA IKEJI AND REGINA ASKIA

Precisely on Monday, December 2, 2013,  Linda Ikeji posted a story about ex MBGN Omasan Buwa, who is currently the Executive Assistant to Delta State Governor on issues with disabled people saying during an interview with City People, that she will never re-remarry which did  not go down well with Omasan Buwa as LIB readers tore her apart with their comments saying she looked ugly and shapeless. However, her successor Regina Askia, didn’t find it funny she took to her Facebook page to vent her anger. Read excerpts published by Linda Ikeji and Regina Askia, Omasan Buwa's Facebook post below;

I987 Most beautiful Girl in Nigeria and Current Executive Assistant to Delta State Governor on issues with disabled people said in a recent interview with City People that she has no plans to re-marry as marriage is not for everyone. The single mother of three, 18 year old twin boys and a 16 year old girl, was once married to Mr Odumosu, but their marriage ended some years back.

When asked about plans to re-marry, the 48 year old ex-queen replied;

"No No No....no plans for that for now. You know marriage is not for everyone. I have been there, I have been independent of a man for so long so its not something I miss. It's not something I long for. To be honest with you I see no reason for that at this stage. Having said that, I do have somebody I am seeing and I quite happy to live like that"

Photos You Didn't See From Obama's Trip to South Africa

Looking at the individual AFP and Instagram shots, you would have no idea that Obama and Bush traveled to South Africa together on Air Force One.
On Tuesday, conservative news outlets in the United States decided that the best way to commemorate the life of Nelson Mandela, and to report on the memorial services in his honor, was to manufacture a controversy about an AFP photo of President Barack Obamashooting a selfie with Danish Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt. According to Fox News, the “international incident” was so bad that, “The tsk-tisk-ing could be heard across continents.”

Media Personalities Discuss Mercy Johnson On Twitter

Days ago, some media personalities made her the subject of discussion on twitter.
Rubbin' minds host and Ebony Life TV presenter, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu started the discussion by tweeting "Mercy Johnson makes a lot of 'leading ladies' in Nollywood look like amateurs. Yes, I'm talking about all your favorite divas and A listers", the tweet garnered lots of re-tweets and mentions in less than 60 seconds - even Mercy Johnson endorsed the submission by re-tweeting the tweet. BTW, the leading actresses are Genevieve, Omotola, Rita Dominic, and Kate Henshaw, right?!

How Jonathan & Obasanjo Fell Apart… Possible Implications For Jonathan.

In Abeokuta last Friday, governors, leaders of the National Assembly and political heavy weights gathered to lay the foundation stone of a mosque at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) complex. Even former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, who has had a bitter political battle with former President Obasanjo, attended the event and donated N5 million towards the project.

Conspicuously absent was President Goodluck Jonathan. He was not there in person. He was not represented by any minister or presidential aide.
President Jonathan’s absence at an event that touches the heart of his benefactor is one of the manifestations of the divide between the two leaders. Obasanjo it was who influenced Jonathan’s political rise as Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, through Governor, Vice President, Acting President, substantive President and Jonathan’s election as president in the 2011 elections. Though unspoken, the feud is now in the open, like a festering wound.

Obasanjo, on his part, has kept away from the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in the last few months. He didn’t attend the last Council of State meeting in July. His voice was not heard sympathising or commiserating with the first family over the illness of Dame Patience Jonathan and the death of Jonathan’s younger brother, the late Meni, respectively. Instead, the volley of attacks and counter-attacks directly and by proxy has replaced the filial relationship between them. Obasanjo even dumped his position as chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) board of trustees – a position he fought very hard to keep. Ever since that decision, things continued to fall apart between the two.

Raw Copy : Obasanjo's historic Letter to President Goodluck Jonathan

An apparently angry and frustrated ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo has written what clearly competes as one of the most acerbic letters in modern history to President Goodluck Jonathan, accusing him of ineptitude and of taking actions calculated at destroying Nigeria.
“Nigeria is bleeding and the hemorrhage must be stopped,” Mr. Obasanjo said in the 18-page letter dated December 2, 2013 and exclusively obtained by PREMIUM TIMES Tuesday.
He said Mr. Jonathan has failed to deliver on his promises to the Nigerian people, stem corruption, promote national unity and strengthen national security.

How I Raped Teenager To Death - Confession Of 34-yr-old Serial Rapist

The-victim-1The-hole-1
The Police in Imo State, recently, rounded up the brain behind the death of a 12-year-old girl, Ifunanya Favour Iberi who was declared wanted two months ago by arresting a 34-year-old man identified as Samuel Chukwunyere.   Police alleged that the suspect was responsible for raping the teenager to death and dumping her lifeless body in a deep well.
The missing little Ifunanya was last seen by members of her family on Sunday, October 13, 2013, when she could not return to their house after her day’s routine activities.  Apparently worried by the scaring development, her parents immediately alerted the Imo State Police Command. Their passionate appeal to the Commissioner of Police, Katsina was very simple. “You must please, assist us find our missing daughter.”
Search for suspects
Seeing the depth of grief boldly written on the faces of Ifunanya’s parents, the Imo State police boss assured them of his determination to get to the root of the matter.
Katsina mobilized his men and went after the fleeing criminal. Not long after, a 34-year old artisan from Amaenyi, Nkwerre, Chukwunyere, who lives at Umulolo village, where the missing girl hailed from, was apprehended. This man quickly fled the community when he noticed that he was being linked with the sudden disappearance of little Ifunanya.  The suspect was rounded up few days ago by the police when he quietly returned to the village.

Children of horrifying incest 'cult' with four generations of in-breeding found living deformed, filthy and mute in scenic valley

Police and welfare officers were shocked by the appalling squalor and degradation on a property where children were found to ...

IT is a case of shocking depravity which came to rest in the hills surrounding a picturesque farming community nestled in a valley southwest of Sydney.
Unknown to the 2000 citizens of the town in a fertile valley amid the south-western slopes of NSW, a dark family secret was unravelling.
Now it can be revealed, not only could the case of the Colt family be the nation's most appalling saga of child abuse, it is among one of the worst accounts of incest ever made public.
The NSW Children's Court has taken the rare step of publishing its judgment of actions taken to remove children from the Colt family (a court-appointed pseudonym to protect identification of minors).
Four generations of intimate relations among the Colts had taken place in South Australia, Victoria, Western Australia and finally come to NSW.
Moving state to state, possibly to evade detection, the scandal only came to light when authorities were alerted there were children living in the hills who didn't attend school.
When they turned up on a remote bush block, they uncovered scenes which wouldn't soon be forgotten.

Backlash over leaders' picture at Mandela memorial service that left Michelle VERY unamused

Obama and Cameron selfie
For the thousands of mourners inside Johannesburg's FNB Stadium it was meant to be a fitting tribute to a 'giant of history'.
But while some reflected on the remarkable life of Nelson Mandela, some world leaders saw it as the perfect opportunity to grab a quick 'selfie' with their peers - prompting a backlash from web users accusing them of undermining the seriousness of the event.
U.S. President Barack Obama, Prime Minister David Cameron and Danish leader Helle Thorning-Schmidt grinned as they cosied up for a quick picture at yesterday's memorial service for the former South African president, prompting an outpouring of criticism.
As the trio posed for the mobile phone snap, Obama's wife Michelle sat alongside her husband looking somewhat stony faced.

EXCLUSIVE: Obasanjo writes Jonathan, accuses president of lying, destroying Nigeria, promoting corruption

He said in the letter titled “Before it is too late” that rather than take steps to advance Nigeria’s interest and up the standards of living of Nigerians, Mr. Jonathan had betrayed God and the Nigerian people that brought him to power, and has been pursuing selfish personal and political interests based on advice he receives from “self-centred aides”.
In the detailed letter, dripping of anger , frustration and what appears a genuine concern to rescue a nation on the brink, Mr. Obasanjo lamented that Mr. Jonathan had become terribly divisive and clannish, destroying his own party, polarizing the country along regional and religious lines and ridiculing Nigeria in the comity of nations.
Without mincing words, Mr. Obasanjo blamed Mr. Jonathan for the crises tearing the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, apart.

The jinx of Grand Paradi Towers, Mumbai, India

The three 28-storeyed pista green-and-white towers stand out prominently in South Mumbai, India. But behind the façade of one of the city's swankiest residential addresses lies a sordid saga of suicides. What is it about Grand Paradi that prompts many of its residents to jump to their death? It is said to be the most famous haunted Mumbai house is situated in one of the city’s hot spot area.

The eighth floor of the Grand Paradi Towers in Kemps Corner, a series of freakish suicides drew attention to what appeared to be a gruesome pattern of deaths and accidents in the building. In 2004 an elderly couple jumped out of the window of this apartment. Their children and their grandchild followed suit within the year.“Things that make it unacceptable to our rational minds that a whole family, three generations, living in one house should commit suicide in the same way," a told by a resident who has lived in the building for 30 years. "There have been up to 20 fatal accidents and suicides since the building was constructed in 1976. Many involving children and even a maid who either jumped or fell out of a window."

A police BMW has apparently crashed into the back of a £250,000 Ferrari 458 Spider causing £2,500 of damage

Supercars are normally hard to miss on the high street, particularly when they're bright yellow, but a police officer was unable to avoid crashing into a Ferrari after an unsuccessful attempt at a u-turn.
Onlookers were stunned as they watched the silver BMW police car scrunch into the back of the Ferrari 458 Spider, which is worth around £250,000.
While a Metropolitan Police spokesman said it was too early to say who was at fault, witnesses who saw the incident on Sunday night report seeing the squad car attempting a three-point turn on the Edgware Road in London.

Why Nelson Mandela Never Forgave Ex-Wife, Winnie

Why Nelson Mandela never forgave ex-wife, Winnie
Nelson Mandela passed away Thursday night. John Carlin in his new book ‘Knowing Mandela,’ reveals why he never forgave the former wife who has visited his bedside.
TWO weeks before Nelson Mandela’s release from prison in February 1990 I went to see his wife, Winnie, at her home in Diepkloof Extension, the posh neighbourhood of Soweto where the handful of black people who had contrived to make a little money resided. It was known as Baverly Hills to Soweto’s other presidents.
Winnie’s home, funded by foreign benefactors, was a two-floor, three-bedroom house with a garden and a small swimming pool. The height of extravagance by black standards, it would have more or less met the aspirations of the average white, middle-class South African.
Zindzi, Winnie’s slim and attractive second daughter, was 29 but looked younger in a yellow T-shirt and denim dungarees. It was 9.30 a.m. and she was in the kitchen frying eggs. She invited me in and started chatting as if we were old friends. The truth was that I had not scheduled an interview with Winnie. I had just dropped in to try my luck. But Zindzi saw nothing wrong in me giving it a shot.
Mum, she said, was still upstairs and would probably be a while. As I hovered about waiting (and, as it turned out, waiting, and waiting friends of Zindzi wandered in for coffee and a chat. Completing the South African middle-class picture, a small, wizened maid in blue overalls padded inscrutably around.

An unprecedented gathering of world leaders has come together in Johannesburg to pay tribute to Nelson Mandela at a memorial service for the former president of South Africa, five days after he died at the age of 95.
The ceremony at the FNB Stadium, the country's largest arena, started an hour late in the pouring rain after dignitaries and members of the public were filing in to the premises for hours.
Cyril Ramaphosa, the deputy president of the ruling ANC party who opened the proceedings, said: 'In our tradition, when it rains when you are buried, your gods are welcoming you to heaven.'
Barack Obama arrived almost an hour after the ceremony started, but was greeted with rapturous applause by the crowd - in stark contrast to South African president Jacob Zuma, was loudly booed whenever he appeared on the stadium's big screen.
He was given a prominent role in the memorial service for the former South African president - and made history by shaking hands with Raul Castro of Cuba, a sworn enemy of America, when he walked up to the podium to deliver an address.

Jonathan, Alison-Madueke, Okonjo-Iweala Culpable In Diversion Of N8 Trillion Oil Funds

Jonathan Diezani madu ngozi Okonjo-Iwala oil
President Goodluck Jonathan and two of his top ministers may be attempting a cover-up on what clearly competes as Nigeria’s biggest fraud ever, involving the illegal diversion, or theft, of over N8 trillion crude oil sales proceeds.
In a frantic and unusual memo to the president on September 25, 2013, Central Bank governor, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi detailed how government-owned oil firm, the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, had systematically diverted the huge sum, being sales proceeds between January 2012 and July 2013.
The CBN governor said for all crude oil sales within the period, the NNPC paid only 24 percent proceeds into the federation account, and diverted or stole the remaining 76 percent-totalling N8 trillion.
As the CBN calculated, the NNPC sold at least 594 million barrels of oil within the period, and should have paid N10.3 trillion (USD65.3 billion) into the federation account. But the corporation paid only N2.5 trillion (USD15.5 billion), Mr. Sanusi said, citing documentation from pre-shipment inspectors.

NYSC Bar Graduates From Youth Service Because Of Mathematics - Court Says It Is Illegal

A Federal High Court in Lagos has declared as unlawful, the decision by the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) to bar Nigerian graduates who do not possess credit passes in ‘O’ Level Mathematics, from taking part in the exercise.
The judgment was made in a suit filed by a Nigerian overseas graduate, Terna Tarka, who was denied mobilisation because he does not have a credit pass in Mathematics in his ‘O’ Level certificate examination.
In denying him, NYSC cited a correspondence from the Ministry of Education which had directed it to comply.
But the graduate through his counsel, Adekunle Oyesanya (SAN) filed a legal action at the Federal High Court, Lagos challenging the NYSC decision.
Joined in the suit are Chairman, National directorate of the National Youth Service Corps and the Minister, Ministry of Education as second and third defendants respectively.
Ruling, Justice Mohammed Idris said given the NYSC’s powers by virtue of the provisions of Sections 2(i) (b) of the National Youth Service Corps Act, Cap N84, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004, it was illegal to deny the young man national service on account of a policy that is not recognised by law.

Mandela’s Thought On Nigerian Leaders

“YOU know I am not very happy with Nigeria. I have made that very clear on many occasions. Yes, Nigeria stood by us more than any nation, but you let yourselves down, and Africa and the black race very badly. Your leaders have no respect for their people. They believe that their personal interests are the interests of the people. They take people’s resources and turn it into personal wealth. There is a level of poverty in Nigeria that should be unacceptable. I cannot understand why Nigerians are not more angry than they are.
“What do young Nigerians think about your leaders and their country and Africa? Do you teach them history? Do you have lessons on how your past leaders stood by us and gave us large amounts of money? You know I hear from Angolans and Mozambicans and Zimbabweans how your people opened their hearts and their homes to them. I was in prison then, but we know how your leaders punished western companies who supported Apartheid.

OLUOMO JEEP
It is no longer news that, four months after Pasuma was attacked by armed robbers that made away with his metallic colour Range Rover SUV, fuji singer Wasiu Alabi Pasuma has replaced it with a  Navy Blue 2012 version of the automobile.
But what many people may not, however, know is that after what seems like an endless wait to recover the vehicle failed, his friend and one of his biggest fans, Musiliu Akinsanya popularly known as MC Oluomo blessed him with the beautiful machine.
Pasuma who performed at Madam Saje 60th birthday penultimate Sunday at Anchor Event Centre announced the arrival of the  Range Rover Sport while singing at the event. While he was on stage performing, the Fuji musician who has become the favourite artiste for virtually all the Yoruba movie stars said the Range Rover was given to him by Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya, who is his friend and benefactor.
