Tiger Woods Gets Tooth Knocked Out By Cameraman In Italy

Tiger Woods Tooth
Toothless Tiger.
Golfer Tiger Woods has always had somewhat of a strained relationship with camera people , especially those snapping away as he is trying to concentrate during putts. So much so that his former caddie Steve Williams would sometimes snatch the cameras and destroy them. Today it seems that a videographer has gotten the best of Tiger, albeit by accident. On Monday, Woods arrived in Italy to support his girlfriend, skiier Lindsey Vonnas she captured her record setting 63rd World Cup title. As the winners arrived at the podium to accept their trophies, an overzealous cameraman accidentally knocked Tiger’s tooth out as he jolted toward the stage to capture the ceremony.

Tiger’s agent Mark Steinberg explained the sequence of events:
“During a crush of photographers as the awards podium at the World Cup event in Italy, a media member with a shoulder-mounted video camera pushed and surged toward the stage, turned and hit Tiger Woods in the mouth,” Mark Steinberg of Excel Sports said in an email. ”Woods’ tooth was knocked out by the incident.”
One of the events organizers, Nicola Colli, secretary general of the race organizing committee, corroborated that Woods lost a tooth but refuted any claims that it was at the hands of a videographer.
“I was among those who escorted him from the tent to the snowmobile and there was no such incident, ”When he arrived he asked for more security and we rounded up police to look after both him and Lindsey.”
Tiger was wearing a face scarf with a skeleton pattern and used that to hide his missing tooth for the rest of his time spent at the event. The photo above was snagged while he lowered the scarf at one point. With or without his tooth, Tiger is slated to compete at the Phoenix Open next week.
