Barely two days after the commencement of selection process for the installation of new Deji of Akure, one of the thirteen contestants nominated by the Osupa Ruling House, Prince Patrick Kole

Aladetoyinbo, has emerged as the Deji-elect.
Until his selection on Sunday, Prince Aladetoyinbo lives in Baltimore in United States of America (U.S.A) where he also came and contested during the process that installed the deposed Deji, Prince Adesina Adepoju, as monarch.

He is the son of the immediate past Head of the Osupa ruling house and Alayere of Iyere, late Pa. Aladetoyinbo.
The traditional rites to ascend the throne has already commenced with the Deji-elect’s visit to Chief Asamo’s house opposite the Deji’s palace where some rites will be performed.
Aladetoyinbo beat twelve other princes from the Osupa Ruling House nominated on Friday, including a well known Porthacourt based prophet and church founder, Prophet Samuel Adegboro.
Governor Olusegun Mimiko is expected to present the instrument of office and staff of authority to the new monarch at a ceremony inside the Cocoa Conference Hall of the Governor Office, Alagbaka-Akure today (Monday).
Aladetoyinbo and other contestants were nominated and presented before the kingmakers on Friday for final selection, as the process to install a new monarch for the town began.
The nomination for the traditional throne became open following a letter written by Ondo State Government through the Akure South Local Government Area, and addressed to the Head of Osupa ruling house, Dr. Adebimpe Ige Ogunleye.
Other princes who indicated interest in the exalted Deji’s throne included; Kayode Oluwole;Adegbola Adelani; Kayode Adegbite; Femi Adejuyigbe, Adeolu Adepoju, Leye Agbebi; Ojo Awimoro; Oluyemisi Bello; Damilola Adeyemi; Oluwole Oguntuyi and Ade Falodun.
The meeting for the nomination of contestants to Deji’s stool was held at the residence of the Head of the Osupa ruling house in the presence of the Secretary to Akure South council, Mr. Adegboro.
The council had earlier written the ruling house of the intention of the State Government to begin the process of selection of a new monarch; directing the Osupa ruling house to present a candidate to occupy the vacant throne after the demise of late Oba Adebiyi Adesida on December 1, 2013.
Reacting to the selection of the new Deji, a former aide to late Olusegun Agagu, Comrade Ifeanyi Odili said the choice of Prince Kole Aladetoyinbo as the new Deji of Akureland “is the wisest decision by the Kingmakers.
