'Mummy! Mummy help me': SEVEN siblings, ages 5 to 15, who died in Brooklyn fire could be heard screaming as mother was forced to jump out of window to find help

Fire tore through a Brooklyn home early Saturday (right), killing seven siblings and leaving their mother, Gayle Sassoon, and sister in critical condition. The dead are children ranging in age from 5 to 15-years-old, with the boys ages 5, 6, 7 and 11 and the girls ages 8, 12, and 15. 'This is an unbelievable tragedy,' said Mayor Bill de Blasio (top left) after visiting the scene on Saturday. It is the deadliest fire in the city since a 2008 inferno that claimed the lives 10, including nine children, in the Bronx. A hot plate that the Orthodox Jewish family was using to keep food warm during the Sabbath caused the blaze.

A Church of England vicar is facing a storm of protest from traditionalist Christians after allowing a Muslim prayer service to be held in his church. CHAIRMAN of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Attahiru Jega, on Friday, asked voters in the coming polls to stay back at polling stations after voting if they choose to.

Jega’s statement came 24 hours after the Inspector General of Police, Suleiman Abba, warned voters to go back to their homes after casting their votes.

The INEC chairman, while answering questions on Channels television on Friday morning, however, countered this, declaring that, “If you choose to remain at the polling stations after casting your votes, stay, but don’t do anything that constitutes loitering” which, he said, was an electoral offence.

Officers called to the residence Wednesday afternoon found the 26-year-old victim, who was seven months pregnant, stabbed and beaten, Longmont police Cmdr. Jeff Satur told the Daily Times-Call newspaper.

The 26-year-old victim had gone to the suspect's home in Longmont to buy baby clothes in response to a Craigslist ad when she was attacked around 2.30pm Wednesday.

'Officers arrived on scene and could hear a female calling for help inside the home,' a statement from Longmont Police said, according to The Longmont Times-Call.

'Officers entered the home and located a female who had been beaten and stabbed in the stomach.'

Moses Eric of ICT Polytechnic was allegedly stabbed to death by his girlfriend yesterday at the DS ICT polytechnic premises in Abeokuta, Ogun state.

Moses and his girlfriend reportedly had a quarrel and in the process of them arguing, the girl dashed to her room, returned with a knife and stabbed the late Moses in his chest.The girl is reported to be in police custody.

CHAIRMAN, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Attahiru Jega, on Wednesday, assured the nation that there would be no further postponement of the general election, saying the elections will hold as scheduled on March 28 and April 11.

The victim, Ada Joy Samuel, lost a part of her lower lip after she engaged Ejiofor Chioma in a street fight over allegation by Chioma that Ada was spreading gossip with her name.

NIGERIA POLICE AT IT AGAIN!!
This is my cousin Chibyke Edeh, He was tortured to death by police men. Until his arrest and murder, he was working with Protea hotel in Benin. He was accused of stealing N45,000 from a guest in one of the rooms he attended to and as such was arrested, detained and not granted bail,the police men tortured him for him to say he was the one that stole the money but he stood his grand that its better for him to die than accept he stole the money which he did not.The police then asked the parents (my aunt and her husband) to go bring N27000 for his bail. By the time they got back with the money, they were told he was dead.

The family of the late Obiageli Anajekwu, who allegedly died two days after she was beaten by her husband, Anajekwu, has called on the Lagos State Commissioner of Police (CP), Mr. Kayode Aderanti to intervene in the interest of justice.
