You can now comfortable press your cloth without worrying if there is light or not. A brilliant Nigerian Engineer has invented a new ‘NEPALESS Iron’ called ‘Iron Rhino’ which does not need electricity to work. The innovative work is the brain child of a Nigerian Engineer named Ayokunle Adeniran.
Ayokunle Adenira is a Mechanical design engineer in United states with years of experience in design of elevator components and recently moved towards consumer products.
The Iron Rhino
Explaining more about his new innovation, Adenira said: “The Iron Rhino is a product I designed in response to the inability of people to iron their clothes due to electrical power outages. It is a butane gas powered pressing iron, meaning it does not require electricity to function. It looks very similar to and functions like existing electric irons. The butane comes in canisters that retail for about N120 and can last for 1 week usage at 20 minutes daily ironing.”
He said he was inspired after seeing Nigerians suffer due to power outage. In a way to add his quota in solving the countries problem he invented the Iron Rhino to solve the problems of Nigerians.
“My inspiration came from disappointment. One day, I needed to meet up with my dad at the airport, and the clothing I wanted to wear was rumpled, I was unhappy and had to wear something else. This disappointment brought about the spark of creativity in my head so I decided to proceed with the idea of having an alternative source of powering clothes iron” he added.
He said the Rhino is very user friendly because the design was built around user ergonomics, while safety was not compromised. The iron functions at most habitable environmental conditions making it very reliable.
If everything goes fine, the Iron Rhino will be a great added advantage for many Nigerians who are tired of the abysmal performance of the electricity providers. The gesture has been appreciated by many who think the Iron Rhino is the answer they’ve been waiting for.
