Genesis Of The Rift Between Them
After many years of separation, two of Nigeria's most celebrated billionaires and erstwhile business partners, Alhaji Aliko Dangote and Sam Iwuajoku are now back as best buddies.
The Nigerian society was shocked when
tales of the disagreement between the two friends filtered out, because
their friendship was well celebrated.
The two partnered in different multi-million dollar deals until Iwuajoku ran into trouble with the EFCC over an alleged multi-million naira import waiver scam. Iwuajoku's best friend, Dangote, the Forbes-rated billionaire was suspected to have had a hand in his troubles with the anti-graft agency over a business deal
turned sour. The two pals, whose feud was well known to many people,
have since buried the hatchet and made up. It is not unusual to see them
walking hand-in-hand, throwing banters and patting each other’s back at
any society gathering.

The ELITES gathered that it took the
influence of some powerful Nigerians to bring the feuding friends
together. Iwuajoku made his fortune importing rice and steel rods, while
leveraging
his extensive political connections to obtain a series of generous
import duty waivers from the Nigerian government. Among other ventures,
he reinvested in private aviation services. His company, Quits Aviation
services is one of the few fixed-base operators in the country. Quits
Aviation Services owns a large maintenance hangar at the Murtala
Muhammed International airport in Lagos and a jet charter service.
