When it comes to getting hitched, most bride and grooms have a budget to work to. But for the mega-rich, money is nothing. Nada.
The average wedding in Australia costs around $65,000 (£32,000) which, if you ask us, is a still a total wedge. But according to former wedding planner and editor of Wedded Wonderland, Wendy Daoud El-Khoury, that’s nothing compared to the opulence she’s seen.
We’re talking multiple couture bridal gowns, seven-tiered wedding cake, floor to ceiling walls made entirely from orchids, 1000 guest reception and a cool $1 million budget for the flowers.
Ali and Lana (pictured above) tied the knot at the bride’s parents’ house in the South of Lebanon.
‘Adorned from top to bottom with real, white orchids on all four walls, LED lights and plasma screens, the reception was transformed into a romantic fairy-tale for their 1,060 guests’ Wendy told Daily Mail Australia.
As for Lana’s *breathtaking* gown? Think Elie Saab Couture.

Another unbelievably extravagant wedding was Sandy and Rod’s.
The couple, with the help of stylist Jason James Design, had a stunning floral theme at their Sydney University venue.
‘The reception came complete with a custom designed 12-metre truss structure positioned over the bridal table featuring cascading ferns, roses in oranges, pinks and reds and hydrangea accents,’ Wendy reveals.

No expense was spared for Nadia and Sam’s big day either.
‘Dream bride Nadia, married her prince charming Sam in Beverly Hills, California, in a wedding fit for a princess’ says Wendy.
‘Her exquisite fishtail gown by Rita Vinieris, featured a layered organza skirt and detailed embellished belt and her jewellery was by Cartier’.
Yes, the bride wore Cartier, because love and marriage and money.

Oh, I am so glad to know about the world’s most expensive wedding. Thank you so much for the photographs. I am completely amazed to see this wonderful decoration. Well, I just got married at the Malibu wedding venue and it was a well budgeted wedding.
